Submit Your Yars Rising Remix For A Chance To Win Exclusive Prizes

New York, NY (June 21, 2024) – Atari — one of the world’s most iconic consumer brands and interactive entertainment producers — and ICON Collective, the leading music production school in Los Angeles, announced today the Yars Rising Remix Competition for Atari and WayForward’s upcoming title, Yars Rising, a sci-fi Metroidvania take on one of Atari’s richest classic titles.

The Yars Rising Remix Competition is designed for music producers, DJs, and anyone passionate about video game music. The challenge is for amateur and professional producers to take music from the upcoming Yars Rising soundtrack and put their own unique spin on it. Whether it’s chiptune, EDM, hip-hop, trance, or any other genre, Atari and ICON want to hear your creations! This unique competition invites music producers from around the globe to reimagine a track from the game’s electrifying soundtrack, offering a rare opportunity to showcase their creativity and join the ranks of music’s fearless innovators.

The competition begins today, June 21, 2024, and submissions are open until July 12. Finalists will be selected and announced the week of July 15. The submission must be an original work and must utilize the song “Disconnection” by Moe Shop feat. YUCe from the Yars Rising soundtrack. Any evidence of plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification. The competition submission link is available at iconcollective.edu/atari with more details. Winners will be selected on creativity, originality, production quality, and cohesion, so participants should bring their A-game!

As a fan, I tried my best recreating the excitement I felt from these soundtracks for Yars Rising in my own style. What Do You Get If You Win?

• First Place: The grand prize winner will be featured in the Yars Rising Orignal Soundtrack alongside dozens of other artists. Additional first place prizes include recognition on Atari and ICON social media channels, a Yars Rising physical care package (including a game code for the platform of their choice), and one month of weekly mentor sessions with an elite ICON Instructor. 
• Second Place: The second place winner will receive special recognition on Atari and ICON social media channels, a Yars Rising care package, and one ticket to ICON Rising Training Camp (Fall ’24) in Los Angeles, plus an ICON swag pack. 
• Third Place: The third place winner will receive special recognition on Atari and ICON social media channels, a Yars Rising game key on the platform of their choice, and one ticket to ICON Rising Training Camp (Fall ’24) in Los Angeles.
